theatre tech camp
Theatre technology camp (June 2021, June 2022) for middle-school girls offered through a partnership with the Dottie Rose Foundation, a local non-profit that seeks to close the gender gap in the fields of technology and computer science through hands-on experiential learning. Rachel Watkins and I created a two-week course that brought in subject matter experts – faculty, former and current UNCC costume students – to engage the middle school students in content covering design and technology in costumes, scenic, lighting, sound, props, and stage management. This camp will be offered again summer 2023.
